This was one signing that Wayne wanted across the line – however he was played mainly out of position when he first arrived so never really got going. After some gentle persuasion, Wayne managed to get him back for the 2023-2024 season with the assurance that he would be played where he plays best – and during pre-season, he hasn’t looked back…

Still the top scorer for local youth side Breightmet Wanderers, Lewis went on to represent Northampton Town, Lille and Genoa before finally landing ‘back home’ with the boss – so we’re really looking forward to what he can bring to the table this campaign…
