Once again, we woke up excited about one thing and one thing only. And that was the fact that it was Saturday – and we all had another chance to watch our heroes that are the Falcons! These youngsters had been doing so well of late and their development from those weeks towards the end of summer is there for all to see. So as we began arriving, it was going to be good to watch them again…
It was a tough start to the game though as the opponents came racing out of the blocks and as it took us a bit of time to get out of first-gear, they managed to see plenty of the ball. But we showed great character and stuck to the task at hand – showing some great attacking play when we managed to get the ball down – and with all of the players taking on board what’s being instilled into them at training, the coaches were really happy to see it panning out on the pitch…
Amelia and Connor showed signs of their quality in net – as they both made some cracking saves – and with both Noah’s, Toby and Amelia-Rose grabbing some scorching goals, when the final whistle went, the Falcons were flying again! The supporters of both sides applauded their heroes off the pitch and as our lot got together, the beaming smiles on the coaches’ faces said it all! To see these kids actually using things they’re learning in midweek is always the stuff of dreams for coaches – so they’re getting happier and happier every week…
Although there were all played their hearts out, there can only be one Player of the Match – and this week it was awarded to Remi as he put some absolutely crunching tackles in at the back and did his utmost to stop them from getting at our goal. They can all go home proud again today though – because we are!
Make sure you get down and watch the Falcons one week people and you too will see the passion and commitment these kids have towards learning the game the right way. These are our Club’s future and as such, we’ll be right behind them all the way…
