Saturday 24th June 2023 will now be forever etched in the fabric of our great Club. Because that’s the night that the family got together to celebrate our 75th Anniversary – and what a night it was!
There were members old and young, past and present – and with some fantastic memories of times gone by including photo albums and TV’s showing some superb history of The County Ground being built – it really was a night of nostalgia! Compered so smoothly by one of the Club’s Directors (our) Gareth Lindsey, there were speeches from Club President Graham Tyldesley and Chairman Stewart Dawes who told us how we started and where we’re heading to – and we even got to hear from 1st Team Manager Dave Hough who definitely had some stories to tell. We won’t mention re-kindling Easter Tours will we?
Some fantastic prizes were on offer in the raffle and the silent auction – including some top-quality memorabilia – and we even managed to grab a quick game of stand-up Bingo! The night was topped off with plenty of fun and frolics as people’s dancing shoes definitely appeared and we’re sure that there were plenty of sore heads come Sunday afternoon…
But seriously. It was a night that we will always remember and listening the the future plans, we will still be here doing it again in another 75 years. As the Club President put it, ‘Bolton County is a family’ and to see all your faces there on Saturday night really showed that…
There are too many people to thank individually but to those of you that played your part in making it such a great night – you know who you are – we are truly thankful. This would not have happened if you hadn’t put the time and effort in so we doth our caps to you. Thank you so much…
And as the carriages departed from the Toughsheet Community Stadium, onto the next chapter of Bolton County FC history we go. 2023-2024 promises to be an exciting season for every Age Group in the Club so we welcome you all on board the journey and we know you’ll enjoy the ride…
