Well this was a bit different from last weekend! From the blistering temperatures and the water-breaks to this – the dark, dank clouds and the blustery wind! That’s Bolton for you we suppose. But that was not going to dampen our spirits. Oh no! Because there was the matter of playing FC Bridgewater Lions in front of us – and the Bullets were more than ready for it…

As the players warmed up, there seemed to be a steely look in the eyes of the kids in blue. We looked up for this and as the coaches gave them their pre-match instructions, the message was clear – pass the ball well, work hard for each other but above all else – enjoy it! The County fans gathered over to the right applauded their heroes as they entered the arena and before we knew it, the whistle had gone and we were off…

And what a game we had! Some of the football on display was absolute quality and it was more than you’d expect from kids so young. The Bridgewater players were giving it their all as well and all over the park, it was great to see. There were some good goals for County – with George A, Joshua, Leon and Mason getting on the scoresheet – and when the whistle went to signal the end of the game, it was the County fans that whose smiles were the broadest. The players all shook hands and we do have to mention – the friendship, sportsmanship and respect throughout this game was a joy to behold. If ever there was an advert for the FA’s Respect campaign, then this was it…

The Player of the Match was awarded to Ezra for some super, solid defending – and it was also so nice to hear the opposition talking as they made their way back to their cars about how it was lovely to see him ask the player he tackled if he was alright. Excellent eh? We really do hope that the Bridgewater fans had a safe journey hone and we look forward to seeing you later in the season…

Another Saturday. Another weekend where these kids have done us proud. Keep it up…
