Another Saturday – and another chapter in the history of our u8 Bullets. This week saw us taking on our old friends from Ladybridge Ninjas and as the rain continued to persist – as it had done all week – both sets of players and supporters were looking forward to it being a wet one today…
And once again, this set of players went about their business with determination and vigour and at times, some of the football on display truly was a joy to watch. Goals from Josh and George S – mixed in the opponents also notching – made it for a really entertaining game of football. Both sets of fans were really enjoying this…
Both teams were really going for it now and there were more goals at both ends – with George S notching again – and by the time the half-time whistle went, we were all glad for a breather as that had been a pulsating game so far…
Ladybridge came out like a steam-train from the restart and our defenders were working overtime trying to stop them from getting through as often as they would have liked – and at the other end, we looked dangerous whenever we could get the ball into their box. Leon managed to bag himself a brace and with both George’s getting on the scoresheet – George A managing to sneak one in the last minute – the game ended with everybody there to witness it knowing they’d been served up a real treat here…
The handshakes were done with pride and as both teams left the arena, they were rightly given a warm round of applause. There had been some fantastic team-play by both sets of players and County showed some excellent passing and movement. Ezra had held strong in defender and together with Leon, he took turns in goal as well. Super sportsmanship throughout…
All of the players in blue can go home today knowing they played their part in this great display – however there can only be one Player of the Match and this week it was awarded to Leon. Not only for his goals but his fantastic attacking play and tracking back throughout the whole game. And as the dust settled and we made our way back to the cars, that was that for another Saturday and we’d played really well again. We love saying that about the Bullets you know…
