As the girls met for their annual Presentation Evening – this time for the 2022-2023 season – the fact that they were disappointed with a 4rh place finish in the league and a semi-final  of the Cup shows just how far these girls have come – and is such a massive improvement from where we were last campaign. The only defeats we endured all season were to the teams that finished above us – and Jess is super-excited about next season already…

She will never stop pushing them out of their comfort zones so that they become not only better football players but more importantly – better people all-round. But she is also a realist and a promotion topped off with the transition to 11v11 football was probably a step too far right now. But consolidation is now the key and we’ll adapt to the transition as we continue to build on the last 10 months or so…

Every single one of them has improved individually which in turn has seen the team progress and the girls promised the coach at the end of last season that they would never, ever give up. And they were true to their word as they stuck at it and got through it together. A season that is testament to the hard work and effort that they all put in…

The Awards went as follows:

Parents Player – Tia
She had to win an award with how much her game has improved. Jess could not disagree with the choice. This girl has been to extra training sessions, really put in the effort and been put through her paces. This has paid off in matches with some worldie saves!

Most Improved – Lucy R
She has had her ups & downs but has worked hard to improve. She has asked questions and spoken to coaches. Most importantly she has actually listened and taken it into her game. Hopefully she will keep building & improving next season.

Manager’s Player – Emily
This award was decided a while ago. We know she has also been doing extra work in the background to improve her game. She has now got her head round the fact that she does not have to do it all herself and brings other players into the game. She has been leading the line really well.

Players Player – Kaysia AKA ‘KK’
This is the one you always want to win as it is voted for by your team mates.
She is an experienced player and is so calm on the ball. She was recently described as effortless! She does have an edge (which Jess likes) and is not scared to mix it when necessary. This player clearly has made a massive impact on the team this season, as she only joined the team just before Christmas!

And that was that. A good night to top off a good season. We hope you all had a great time and we are already looking forward to the next Presentation Evening!
