There is nothing better for a football club than seeing the next generations making their way through – and that has been a fundamental part of Bolton County’s huge success over the past 75 years. And with it being our birthday year, can you imagine how proud we were when our brand new u7’s Falcons awoke this morning about to play their first-ever game? It is the children and young people that are the lifeblood of every grassroots club – and if there were players about to embark on their careers here this morning, we cannot wait to see them in our first-teams in about 10/12 years time…
Jenna and Aaron have worked so hard over the summer – organising a squad and getting them ready for this moment – and with the excellent backing of sponsors https://www.ensol.co.uk/ – they were good to go. Our first foray into non-competitive, competitive football was beginning with a trip to Bolton Arena – not many better places to start – and do you know what? Each and every one of the County players in the sparkling new kits did us so proud…
Sure -there were a nervy few opening minutes – but that was to expected as all of the players were so excited to get going. And when they did get going, the whole team played really well. Their passing and moving belied their tender years and at points, it looked like they’d been playing for years! Backed by a great County following, the kids excelled and some of the goals we scored were first-class. All in all, a fabulous opening game for the team in blue and mission accomplished…
All of them were praised to the hilt as they walked off that pitch and the County fans showed their appreciation with the rapturous round of applause they gave them. Our fans were fantastic today and we hope to see you out again every time we play from now on! Toby was awarded the Ensol Player of the Match for his brilliant all-round performance and they can all go home today knowing they played their part in this superb game. Well done kids! Can’t wait for next week already…
