There are times when football brings everybody together – no matter the age, gender or cultural backgrounds – and Remembrance Day is always one of them. So as Team Storm lined up for their latest encounter today, the minute’s silence was observed impecibbly by everybody that was there. And then it was down to action – and yet another performance from the girls that made us all really proud to be Bolton County fans…
Each and every one of them put in a superb performance that saw us work hard as a team and keep our positioning really well. At times the shape was excellent both when we defended and then when we attacked and putting in every ounce of effort, we really did well out there. We knew it was going to be a good test and we kept our heads focused to put in an overall great display – topped off with a fine hat-trick by our Emily!
The Girl of the Game was awarded to Berrie today – as she provided brilliant support to her team-mates throughout the game and with great composure on the ball, at times she belied her tender years. She was very much on top of her game both on and off the ball and always electing to play the right pass, she was a constant thorn in the sides of our opponents all game. Well done Berrie – fully deserved!
So all in all, it was a good performance from Storm today – and a special mention must go to Jed for his high-quality match officiating as well! Football matches need a referee and without them, there would be no game – so nuff’ respeck’ for doing such a great job in the middle today…
And as we all started making our way back to the cars, that was another Saturday done – and another Saturday where these girls have done our Club proud! Well done to you all – and now go and do it all again next weekend!
