Bolton County are a family and as such, there needs to be a fresh influx of new family members in order to keep the bloodlines going. So it was so, so good to see our brand new u7’s take their first, fledgling steps of their football careers in the famous colours of our great Club as they went into their non-competitive matches over at Bolton Arena…

A majority of the players representing us had come through our thriving Academy having received the first-class services of Academy Manager Mark Ormrod – and it clearly showed as soon as they got on that pitch!

There were plenty of nervous smiles as they walked onto the pitch before each game – but they were replaced by big, beaming ones at the end of them! And that wasn’t just the players – as the parents were showing their appreciation alongside proud Club Chairman Stewart Daves and Director of County’s Junior Football, Andy Ross who were also there to witness this moment in history…

The Rockets played two matches – with the first one being against Prestwich AllStars and our Leon grabbed two goals with George also getting on the scoresheet. The second game that followed was against Woodbank FC and once again, Leon managed to grab a brace and Joshua tucked away the other goal as the kids played great in both games..

The Bullets were also in action as we took on our old mates from AFC Bolton – with the silent assassin that they call Ayush bagging himself a hat-trick as the team played superbly from the first to the last minute. All in all, it was a successful day for Countu and we were just so happy to see the smiles and laughter on all their faces. It’s clear that they’re loving their football – and we definitely love having them as part of our ever-growing family…

Everybody connected to our great Club is looking forward to seeing the progression made by both these squads as the season develops and for many years to come – with the hope that we see at least some of them in the first-team in about 10 or so years time! There’s always room for more though – so if you or anybody you know wants to get involved in our Academy or our u7’s, then please get in touch for more details. We promise you will realise that you’ve made the right decision within the first week or so…
