Welcome to Bolton County Football Club

Bolton County FC are a well-established, local football club with 15 teams playing the beautiful game with a smile – and we travel all over Greater Manchester to ply our trade…

Our squads range from our Academies for both boys and girls aged under 7 – run by the fantastic Mark Ormrod – across all age groups up to u18’s with girls teams and a superb Open Age women’s team that play in the Lancashire FA Women’s Championship. And all that is without mentioning our excellent Open Age Men’s team who narrowly missed out on winning the Manchester Football League Premier Division in the 2021-2022 and came runners-up in the Bolton Hospital Cup Final. There’s also the development that goes on in the newly-revamped Reserves who will be going into Division 4 of the Manchester Football League looking to right the wrongs of the last campaign – so you can see that we are ‘one big family’!

Our main focus is creating a pathway right the way through the club – so that our existing Academy players are one day pulling on the shirt for the 1st team – and to that measure, we are working hard to make it happen. Several members of the 1st team squad this season came through the ranks so it’s something we are determined to continue doing. We were rightfully awarded the Football Association’s prestigious Charter Standard in April 2002 but we will never rest on our laurels as we look to continue our growth in the coming years…

All of our coaches are required to attain the level of ‘Junior Team Manager’ as directed and guided by the Football Association as this ensures we provide football in a safe, friendly environment  and we strictly enforce our child protection policy which includes full screening of all volunteers with a DBS disclosure. Regular first-aid and safeguarding training is also ensured so when you bring your child to ‘The County’, you can rest easy in the knowledge that we are there to help and assist in every way possible…

Being a family-centred club, supporters new and old are very welcome and have a valuable role to play in making the club a success. Some games down at The County Ground attract large crowds so we’re always looking for more to join the ranks. And being a community club, everything is planned, organised and then undertaken by a bank of committed volunteers. Willing helpers are never turned away so if you fancy lending a hand in any capacity, then just speak to a Club Official and we’ll be happy to listen…

Have a look around our website to get to know the club a little more and please do not hesitate to contact us for any reason should you choose to.

Up the County!!!
